What’s Your Story
Throughout human existence, every culture has impacted the next generation by sharing tales of what they have seen or done. And the best stories — the ones that shape us, challenge us, and stay with us — often come from the ones we have read in the Bible. I know that has been the case for so very many of us.
Is there a single story from the Bible that has impacted the way you see life and God? The telling of your "Oh Wow" moment may encourage someone else. I am not looking for a sermon or a lesson — just a story. One that moved you, surprised you, or showed up at exactly the right moment in your life. Remember, if you're willing to share, think carefully and purposefully about it. Share what it meant to you. I'll gather these reflections here as a testament to the power of a life-altering story.
Here are the rules. Honesty is a crucial element in an endeavor like this. So, if you wish to participate, the stories become OURS (the readers). We have an innate desire to encourage one another. So, I will read the submissions and edit them for typos and readability. I will then send them back to you so you can confirm the edits don't steal from your story message. Only then will I add it to the string. Outside of this string of stories, I have no intention to gather them up and produce a book for profit or any other intention.
Finally! I have many friends who are great storytellers when we come together for dinners or coffee and such. They speak seamlessly and with great confidence when they tell of their close calls, near disasters, and the "wins" in their lives. Be that person when you consider what to submit. I desire for us all to be able to say we wept, cheered, identified with, or were made grateful that we read about it (and, of course, see how it connected with the story you shared).
